Fuel Price Increase: Government Launches Support Plan for Transport and Fishing Industries

In response to rising fuel prices driven by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, the French government has introduced an immediate and exceptional support package for the sectors most affected by these increases.

The scheme is available to road freight transport companies, passenger transport operators, and medical transport providers established in France and employing fewer than 1,000 people. Managed by the Agency for Services and Payments (ASP), the aid is capped at €60,000 per company. The amount awarded depends on the number and type of vehicles operated, with individual grants ranging from €70 to €500 per vehicle. Applications may be submitted until June 15, 2026.

The fishing industry is also eligible for dedicated support. The aid is calculated based on fuel purchases made between April 1 and May 31, 2026, at a rate of €0.20 per litre purchased in April and €0.35 per litre purchased in May. French fishing companies have until June 30, 2026, to submit their applications.

Detailed eligibility requirements and application procedures are available on the official government and ASP websites.
